蓝区项目 of Walla Walla Valley

沃拉沃拉大学 and Adventist 健康 have partnered with the Walla Walla Valley 蓝区项目 (BZP) as our signature project for our community. BZP is designed to help make healthy choices easier where we live, 工作, 玩, 祈祷, 和学习, and will have a significant positive impact on the health and well-being of our community. With funding from Adventist 健康 and leadership from the CHE, WWU is proud to have brought the 蓝区项目 to the Walla Walla Valley.

C.A.R.E. 周末 are 1–2-hour service opportunities offered every weekend during the academic year. Designed to help students connect with Christ through service, C.A.R.E. activities give students an opportunity to make friends while making a difference for our community.

伊甸园的储藏室

Operated by the 沃拉沃拉大学 Church. 伊甸园的储藏室 is an on-campus food pantry designed to meet the needs of food insecure students at 沃拉沃拉大学 and provide outreach to the community. The pantry has 工作ed with College Place Public Schools to organize volunteers and gather food for hundreds of care packages benefiting the college Place community.

“Because we believe that every person is created in the image of God, our mission reaches beyond providing food to promote the value of nutrition, increase self- sufficiency, 灌输希望. 此外, we seek to encourage an understanding of food insecurity within our community and to create a space for students and church members to volunteer and come together. In this way, 伊甸园的储藏室 helps to ensure that food relief has a more meaningful, enduring impact.”

长期恢复

The CHE helped form the Blue Mountain Long-Term Recovery Group to respond to the needs of the Walla Walla Valley and surrounding counties after severe flooding in February 2020. Long-term disaster case management and rebuilding continue to be needed.

服务一天

服务一天 is about students and community coming together to make an impact. Twice a year an entire day is dedicated to being engaged in 服务一天. This is a campus-wide event that occurs twice a year, where students and faculty participate in service projects for local organizations and private residents.

Community service is an important part of  the 沃拉沃拉大学 experience. 在服务日, classes are excused with the expectation that students are participating in one of the various service projects. Thanks to the you and the many students that participated over the years, the CHE at 沃拉沃拉大学 celebrated our 30th annual 服务一天 on October 18, 2023. Thank you for your 慷慨 in Service!

If you haven't had the opportunity to participate in one of our 服务一天, stay tuned for another opportunity during Tri-College Community Days and our next annual Fall 服务一天. You can find more information on our 服务一天 页面.
